(01) — Overview

A protected nineteenth-century roof in central Leuven had to gain a glazed attic studio without touching the street facade. The only way in was up and over — a single large pane flown by crane across the ridge and set into a new steel opening from above.

We closed the street for one early morning lift, boomed the pane over the roofline and landed it onto pre-set bearings inside a tight timber opening. One pane, one lift, one morning — the heritage frontage never knew it happened.
